i woke up this morning, like i do most mornings, thinking about aerosmith, like most of you. i was thinking today about in 1976 / 77 my top three bands were kiss, queen, and aerosmith. the big three, they could do no wrong. they were all stadium / arena size pulls without top ten songs, well, without many top ten songs (kiss, "rock and roll all night, queen, somebody to love, best friend, and we will rock you, and aerosmith, sweet emotion, walk this way, dream on). i was into, and just getting into bands like ufo, thin lizzy, judas priest, ac/dc, etc, as well, all were amazing, but at the time, all were still opening acts for the big three. ok, gene simmons and steven tyler could do no wrong then, today god has got to be shaking his head saying "were did i go wrong?". i mean come on, steven tyler selling fast food chicken, what an idiot.
check out this queen poster from their "day at the races" tour...and check out who's opening.
