CRAPPIE FEST

ok, the crappie fest is fast approaching, as you all should (might) know, i'm having an art show there to launch the worlds largets crappie festival. my work will consist of all the fish/WWII pieces i've been doing recently like THIS ONE....so there will be a bunch of them. the festival is in water valley mississippi and starts may 4th, and my show is that night at the yalo studio and gallery. see all my show listings HERE.
i've also done a very limited edition t-shirt for the even pictured below...i'm mean like they're only printing 60. my awesome pal alison gartner did the graphics for me. if any of you want to get one of these shirts, and i know you do, everyone loves a crappie, i have four in my fish tank, contact coulter at the yalo studio.

can i just say i got this rainbow live in germany 1977 cd the other day at my minds eye records and it RULES! dio on vocals, amazing vocals, and of coarse ritchie blackmore on guitar, great stuff. i'm playing it all the time in the studio.

so i get up late, glad no one was expecting me, get dressed and go out with jose to give him a walk. as jose is defecating in the building next doors grass, i look across the street at the boxing gym. parked up on the sidewalk is this hotshot bright green, like road workers shirt green, car with a black stripe down the side because black stripes always make cars go faster. the hatch back is opened up and the doors are open as well. the owner is out there wiping it down, like he's been doing every day, through out the day, since i got back from the southern book signings. ok, we get it, you're a cool guy and have a new car and you want everyone to see how cool you are because of your possession. i'd go over there and tell him i think he's cool because he has a race car that's painted badly but he'd probably kick my ass, being a boxer and all. i walk around the corner on a side street and there's a pile of freshly broken passenger side car glass all over the side walk, guess that person will learn not to leave anything in their car that bad guys can see. further down there's a car with all it's tires flattened, guess their not very popular. THEN as i circle home a car drives by boasting real loud how bad they are, how many bitches they get, how much gold they own, how they have a gun, through the medium of rap. notice i don't say it's music. rap was once a reflection of society, like much music is when it's new, it was fresh and full of potential. now rap is influencing society, it's now a cancer on society, and when someone is driving around blaring that hate, they're saying "look at me, i'm sick". but none of this really bothered me because i heard the new overkill this morning and it shreds.
