shout out to the 99% in oakland, keep it up. you guys and the 99% in NYC are takin' care of business. cleveland's 99%, well....at least they're there, would have been nice if they would have left their drums at home.

ok, about my fish i talked about in the previous update. i think it's a white perch instead of a white bass. it doesn't have the black strips a white bass has, but it's so young maybe the stripes don't come in till later.. idk. i've only caught a few white perch in my life so i'm not that familiar with the species. let me know what you think.

went fishing on the e. 9th street pier behind the rock and roll hall of fame today. the planet has definitely shitted for winter. the sun doesn't set over the lake anymore, it's shifted and now sets over lakewood from that spot. anyway...i was trying to catch something small for my tanks. i ended up snagging a tiny white bass by it's tail. the thing is maybe two inches long, i have no idea how he got hooked. i brought it home and have it in my 30 gallon tank with some pumpkinseeds and a bullhead. if he does well and gets a little bigger i'm going to put him in the 150 gallon tank with the crappie. at his present size someone might eat him in the big tank.

....ok, enough fish stuff...how about we talk cereal. i have a brand new favorite cereal. it's 'crunchy nut' by kellogg's. i'm killing a box a night right now. since it's new there's specials at grocery stores, stuff like 2 for $5. so i'm leaving with 4 boxes when i visit dave's (it's a grocery store, see october 6th update).

and check out these jammies i got in the mail today! a very good pal of mine found them and she knows "one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish" is one of my favorites. these things rule, i'm gonna wear them and eat cereal....and from the great book 'one fish two fish'...'and now good night. it's time to sleep. so we will sleep with our pet zeep. today is gone. today was fun. tomorrow is another one. every day, from here to there, funny things are everywhere'.

you know what i did today? i voted early and i voted NO on issue 2. if you're in ohio and in the best county in the nation, cuyahoga county, you can vote early at east 30th and euclid.

why vote NO on issue 2? No on 2 because teachers, nurses, firefighters and cops did not crash the economy, wall street did. Don't let the Republicans blame public servants for what Wall Street and Republicans caused.

browns home game, gear day

ok, today is sunday, browns home game day. so me and jose make today's walk toward the stadium so we can check out the browns gear like we do most home games. today's moronic browns shirt rivals the one two weeks ago (see the october 2nd update). this one reads "beer we go brownies, beer we go!", printed on bright orange no less. nothing says you're stupid like an orange beer we go shirt....dude.
i did get a pretty good hoodie though, it's brown with the 'brownie' printed in orange on the front. nothing printed on the back and no type, my kind of browns gear. not orange material, no stupid slogan, no graphics, and the throwback brownie from the 1940's....touchdown browns! i scored!

jose's birthday is fast approaching. on october 22nd he'll turn 13, that's really old in people years. what gives away his age are his gray hairs, not his health. that boy still walks from e. 22nd to playhouse square and back most every day. he'll tree a squirrel two times quick if i let him, and he instills fear in the hearts of bad guys.

this coming may i'm having a show in water valley mississippi at the yalo studio and gallery. i'll be showing all of my fish / WWII plane pieces because in may in water valley, they have their annual crappie festival! how cool is that? i did a show last year around this time in springville NY of my fish / plane work, it was called "of fish and fowl" and some of those 2010 pieces will be in water valley this coming may.
it's a semi long story how i got this show and there's plenty of time between now and then to go into it. just giving you the heads up.

here's one of the springville pieces, it's called "two crappie wulf fx 190's down a p47 thunderbolt cracker over france in 1943" and it'll be in mississippi.

hey! i found one of my high school sketch books! here's a drawing inspired by the song "seasons of wither" by aerosmith. i'll be putting up more soon.

fish identified

i contacted my friend philip willink at shedd aquarium in chicago and he identified my new fish (see previouse update). philip is one of the guys who helped me identify my golden shiner too (see may 22nd update). the fish i caught yesterday are 'spottail shiner Notropis hudsonius'.

here's a pretty cool tube on shedd aquarium. i've never been to shedd, but i hear tell it's what they say, the shit.

i went fishing behind the rock hall for a few hours this afternoon. it was ok, i hadn't been fishing in a long time. i didn't catch much, i did catch three fish that are yet to be identified. i think they're in the shiner family, all about three inches long or so. i brought them home and have them in my big tank, we'll see how they do.

i did another fish piece, i really like this one. it's a mix between a white bass and a russian WWII yak-3 fighter. i also put an old comic book clipping in it which came out pretty cool. take a look and let me know what you think. it's called "soviet white bass yak-3" and it's in the original archive gallery.

this is pretty funny, it's called "fishn' with joe" ten minutes of joe catching one white bass after another with joes babes opening the segment and closing it.
