Created on white shirts and hoodies, the Sketchbook line takes Hess' drawings and incorporates them not only into the clothing but also on the label, which each feature a different and original piece of Hess'art cut directly from the pages of his sketchbook and cradled into an envelope-like tag attached to each piece. The Sketchbook line is available in limited quantities of 100 and will not be printed again once sold out."

DOG PACK ATTACKS GATOR IN FLORIDA

At times nature can be cruel, but there is also a raw beauty, and even a
certain justice manifested within that cruelty.
The alligator, one of the oldest and ultimate predators, normally considered
the "apex predator", can still fall victim to implemented 'team work' strategy,
made possible due to the tight knit social structure and "survival of the pack
mentality" bred into the canines.
See the remarkable photograph below courtesy of Nature Magazine.
Note that the Alpha dog has a muzzle hold on the gator preventing it from
breathing, while another dog has a hold on the tail to keep it from thrashing.
The third dog attacks the soft underbelly of the gator.

The Friends of the Cleveland Kennel’s fourth annual fundraiser, “Art Fur Animals,” will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2008 at the Galleria at Erieview.
This exciting event brings together artists and animal lovers to share an evening of art, music, food and fun. Art fur Animals is a benefit and silent auction to raise money to provide care for the animals in need at the City of Cleveland Kennel.
Well-known area artists such as George Kocar, Dana Depew and Kristen Cliffel are designing ceramic dogs, which will be sold during a live auction. Artwork for the silent auction has been donated by many of Cleveland’s finest artists, including Derek Hess, Douglas Max Utter and Stephen Yusko. Last year's event raised nearly $10,000 and received coverage from the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cleveland Free Times, and Northern Ohio Live magazine.
Please join us for this fun event that supports a serious and worthwhile cause: neglected, abused and homeless animals in the city of Cleveland. Tickets are $12 and include entrance to the event, appetizers and wine or beer. Parking for the event is available for $3 in the garage beneath the Galleria.

here's some picture i took of lake erie while i was walking jose yesterday (bad picture phone pics) - anyway, these kind of "lake-scapes" have been the inspiration for my "slipping away" piece and the "erie ice" series. my works are based on the ice on lake erie, but at night...which my camera phone couldn't handle so these are day shots.

anyone who's started paying attention to the big picture...not our government, or any other. government....the biggest picture, the federal reserve / global banking cartels ...the next step of their agenda is on right now, just got set into motion ...nice and low key.

don't know what i'm talking about? check out the third part of "zeitgeist", although the first two parts all tie into the third part - the third part which is what that CNN link is reporting.. i suggest watching the whole thing from start to finish with an open mind..it may very well challenge some of your core beliefs and you might want to right it off before it ties it ALL together...which it does....it's going on right now, put down that play station
